ACHARI PANEER TIKKA
The taste was good, perfect blend of spices in the gravy with soft panner. We enjoyed it with garlic naan.
BIHARI LAMB CHOPS
These are, hands down, the most delicious lamb chops we've ever had. We ordered them once on a whim and now have to have them every time we visit!
CHICKEN MOMO
Flavorful and spicy, the momos were absolutely outstanding! Topped with spicy chili garlic chutney, and we considered ordering a second serving! They were light fluffy and filled with a savory chicken filling. Do not sleep on the momos! Everyone else we ate was incredible to. Having lived in Mumbai as a teenager, Pippal was one of the closest things I've had to being back in India. Service and cocktails were phenomenal as well. Eat here as soon and often as you can!
VADA PAO SLIDER
This Vada Pav tasted like home!! The right amount of masala and heat. It was incredible. In fact, everything we tried was 10/10! We can't wait to return and try more.
PATHAR KE KEBAB
It was amazing to see chapli kebab on a restaurant menu- this is a Pashtun dish and it's not often you see this at Indian places. Too many of them focus on the North Indian standards and popular dishes like butter chicken or chicken tikka masala, but Pippal's menu is inventive and everything is really delicious and precisely done. The chapli kebab has the perfect level of spice, and not too much acid or ginger/garlic to take away from the flavor of the meat coming through. We have ordered these every time we visit Pippal and it's a great accompaniment to the fry-ums, Chicken 65, and other snacks before you get into mains and biryani dishes for a full meal.
LITTI CHOKHA
It was fantastic. Reminded me of home food. Nothing beats the flaky litti.
PRAWN & FISH CURRY
This dish was definitely special since it had authentic malayali flavors. The curry was a vibrant, creamy delight, with a rich coconut milk base that lent a velvety texture and a subtle sweetness that perfectly balanced the warm spices. The fresh coconut meat added an extra layer of authenticity and flavor, making each bite incredibly satisfying. The prawns were plump and perfectly cooked, and the fish was tender, flaky, and fresh, absorbing the aromatic sauce beautifully.
ANDA CURRY
A Royal Affair: Lucknowi Chicken Biryani Reimagined If there were a dish that could sing the poetry of Nawabi kitchens and still echo modern finesse, the Lucknowi Chicken Biryani at Pippal. From the moment it arrived, it demanded reverence. The Cornish hen, bronzed to perfection and perched atop a bed of fragrant saffron-kissed rice, looked almost too regal to touch. But touch you must --- because what lies beneath is a tapestry of slow-cooked mastery. Each grain of basmati rice is tender and subtly infused with the fragrance of kewra and rose water, harmonizing with warming notes of royal spices. Cooking a Cornish hen is notoriously unforgiving --- too often it emerges under-seasoned or dry. Yet here, it is a triumph. Marinated with an artisan's care, the bird yields effortlessly --- its flesh moist, richly spiced, and imbued with the soul of slow, thoughtful cooking. You can taste the heritage of Awadhi cuisine in every fiber --- refined, elegant, restrained yet deeply flavorful korma sauce. And let's be clear, this is not your generic, overly sweet, cream-heavy gravy masquerading as korma. This is a true, slow-simmered ode to tradition: velvet-smooth and layered with flavor that doesn't overpower but elevate. Accompanying this is a cool, garlicky raita, a sharp and creamy counterpoint that refreshes the palate and grounds the richness of the dish without ever stealing the spotlight. To distill the experience in the words of a Nawab: nj'aakt hai, shaan hai, taamjhaam kii baat hai, yh biryaanii nhiiN, nvaabii j'aayke kii saugaat hai / It is grace, it is grandeur, a feast in full bloom --- This is no mere biryani, but royalty served in a plume. In essence, this biryani isn't just a meal --- it's an invitation to a royal banquet, wrapped in a modern plate. It honors tradition while confidently reinterpreting it, delivering an experience that is both nostalgic and novel. Rating: 10/10 --- A dish that courts the soul and lingers like poetry.
